| August 2008. 1: There is a nasty virus called antivirus2008 or antivirus2009 that is installed by clicking on a link from email or an internet website. If you get a strange response, turn your computer OFF immediately. Do not click no or the red box. Either will install the virus. 2: If you have increased the RAM memory in your computer, it may be necessary to increase the virtual file size. It should be from the amount of memory to double. Right click on my computer, properties,advanced,performance,advanced,virtual memory and check the settings. 3: It is necessary to keep the temporary files at a minimum. Microsoft has a tool to clean up the hard drive. Open my computer, right click on the C drive,properties, and there is the disk cleanup button. After deleting all the files it recommends, I recommend hitting the tools button at the top of this menu and run the defrag. 4: Firefox is a safer browser than Internet Explorer. After installing firefox go to tools, add-ons, extensions and look for Ad Block plus. This upgrade to firefox will remove the video advertising. There is a USA choice for updates. This really works well.. |
