Company Profile
MicroSphere, Inc. was established in 1983 to design, manufacture and sell peripheral computer products internationally for CP/M and MS-DOS computer systems. The company expanded as a local need grew and began selling complete IBM-compatible systems in 1985. Leading Edge and Kaypro PC computers were among the first personal computers offered. It soon became evident there was a need for a competitively priced, custom designed computer that would use high-quality, IBM-compatible components. Thus, MicroSphere began building their own IBM-compatible PC, choosing each component carefully, because quality, cost and ultimately performance could be controlled for a better end-product. "That philosophy still holds in today's computer market", says Don Thompson, company President and Chief Research and Development officer. "We know what the components are designed to do and how they are best combined to give our clients an optimally functioning computer. There is a wide range of quality at the component level so building our own computers gives us better control over the end product. For instance, due to the climate conditions of Central Oregon, we have determined that using special Ball Bearing Fans can significantly increase the cooling, reduce the noise and extend the life of the computer." Currently MicroSphere provides system integration services of a wide scope based according to individual clients' needs. Those services include component upgrades to existing equipment to full-service consultations regarding business technology needs, network design, custom computers, network installation and support, connectivity, maintenance and trouble shooting for a complete computer operation. There are 2 Certified Network Engineers on staff. Owner, Don Thompson has been network certified since 1985. Company employees collectively have many years training, experience and a wide range of expertise from a variety of business environments so can anticipate how best to use the technology available. To better serve the client's needs, the technical staff includes college graduates with degrees in Electrical Engineering, Physics, and Accounting for example. Take a few moments to find out more on the "Staff" listings. Custom Database research, data mining, demographics and solution-based business information is available. This work has been done for many clients all over Oregon.
